What is crystal for electronics could be applied in smart phone?

 

It is common to use a smart phone to surf on the internet and locate a place you want to visit. However, do you know what crystal for electronics could be used on it?  At least three kinds of crystal for electronics will be used in one smart phone.


32.768kHz SMD3215 12.5pF ±20ppm

There is a function of showing time in mobile phone, which must be controlled by real time clock. 32.768kHz is the frequency that used to control time, which usually be used in clock, mouse, keyboard, Bluetooth headset, audio, smartphone, MP3, MP4, communication and other devices. Time related electronic products are inseparable from it.


Auxiliary crystal resonator

The most common one is 26MHz 3.2 * 2.5 package with a load of 7.5pf and an accuracy of 10ppm and 26MHz 3.2*2.5 11pF 10PPM. In addition, for the newest NFC function, 13.560MHZ and 27.120MHZ may be applied.

Temperature compensated crystal oscillator and voltage controlled temperature compensated crystal oscillator are among the active crystal oscillators with the highest accuracy, the lowest power consumption and the smallest jitter. 

The accuracy is usually in the range of 0.5ppm to 2.0ppm. Therefore, when the temperature difference is large, the temperature can be stably controlled within the specified range. Since we will use GPS, or sometimes use it for a long time, there must be a TCXO to control the temperature of the phone to avoid explosion.
